Meet Rosanita

Kia orana,  Rosanita is a proud descendent of the oldest island in the pacific, Mangaia, where the echoes of ancient wisdom resonate through time. My roots are intertwined with my Mangaian tupuna from Ngati Mana’une and Ngati Tāne iwi who connect me to the tapestry of generations that have come before me. I also carry the vibrant mana of Samoa, with ties to Tuana’i in Upolu as well as threads of Irish and English heritage. My journey is one of exploration, where I am immersed in deepening my connection to my ancestral origins. Growing up, I was raised in the rhythm of massage and intuition while guided by the teachings of Kawa and tikanga from my Mangaian and Samoan elders, then later taught by tangata whenua Māori. Recognizing a critical disparity between the health aspirations of Pasifika and Māori communities, I am dedicated to contributing to positive outcomes for our people.

As a qualified massage therapist living in te ao Māori, with more than 5 years of experience and a focus in deep tissue, sports and rehab I have worked with many high performance athletes and sports teams.

Most notably I have worked alongside the Warriors for the last 3 years and travelled internationally with the Cook Island Rugby League team for the Pacific Championship. I have also worked alongside the Springboks, Silver Ferns and the Breakers.

Festpac 2024

Drawing from my Mangaian lineage, I pay attention to the prompting of vaerua to practice māoro, and mōtu, the gentle and deep stirrings of a person's vaerua to awaken and move forward within their own mana. Samoan roots echo through fo'fo when a more blunt and assertive tool is needed to prompt a person's vaerua and mana. My quest for understanding has led me to my current teachers in healing spaces – Audie and Caroline Beazley – who have a wealth of knowledge through the genealogy of papa Hōhepa.

When I am not immersed in healing practices, you'll find me reading, carving, dancing, diving into arts or delving into the tapestry of culture and history. This journey is about embracing the rich blend of traditions that flow within me and sharing their transformative power with others. I look forward to sharing the same space as we honour our ancestors, as we heal and grow, and thrive together. Let's bridge the gaps, mend the spirits and nurture the mind body and soul. With every step we take forward internally we carry those before us and have the potential to offer opportunities to those after us.
